A Super Fun Saturday

Bri had to work today and I just couldn't bear to stay home and do the laundry list of things I HAD to do when there were two super cute kids who just wanted to play. SO- we headed to Decatur to the Children's Museum ( thanks to Dan and Jen for the membership last Christmas).
We've been there numerous times before but never on a Saturday and never just us ( we usually had babysitting kids with us). We had a blast.

They had a new pins and needles that was full body- Alaric loved doing it over and over!
The doctor area was the biggest hit for Amara- she loved taking care of the babies.
The kids got to be on TV! Amara didn't know what was going on but Alaric loved looking at himself on the TV screen as he gave the news report.
We got home, napped, and then Bri got off work. We headed 4 doors down to the North State Street Block party. State Street is the street just east of our street, Charter, that has all the big old mansions. We got the invite to the State Street party because it was hosted at the kids' babysitters house. It was so fun. Even though there were dozens of people there, we kinda kept to our own and hung out mostly with the few Charter Street families.
The kids loved the chips and cheese and that's pretty much all Alaric ate all night. I'm such a good mom!
D and Rich fill up their plates
The son of the hosts is a skateboarder. His halfpipe became our kids' favorite toy. Sit on the edge....
...slide down....
....meet in the middle.
Mara learned how to give handshakes that night but she still opted for high fives!

Alaric looks like a natural in that newscaster seat.
