Family time and celebrating Brian's birthday together- Engineering Open House!

Since Brian would be spending the weekend in Chicago for his birthday with his best friend, we wanted to have some family time together. SO I took the kids out of school. Brian took a half day and we went to the Engineering Open House on campus. An opportunity to see the engineering students present finding on hundreds of different topics. The first place had cotton candy- YUM!
We listened to students talk about their projects- it was like a science fair for 20,000 people!

The kids liked sitting in the college seats!

We went all over the engineering campus and had such a great time. We took in a fire demonstration

and some sort of explosion that was really exciting, especially to the engineering students who performed it.

We watched a fun demonstration about the space shuttle and when we went up to get our frozen marshmellows, Alaric needed to tell the engineering student what he knew about space ships. Funny stuff

The weather was beautiful and we loved doing it together! We finished with a trip to Custard Cup on its opening day! A perfect ending!
