Today was a BIG DAY!!! Brian got up early and started cooking freezer-friendly meals at 6AM for The Bechtels.
We arrived at 10Am to Dan and Jen's and I couldn't wait to see my precious nephew! He was snuggly sleeping in his bassinett and looked absolutely perfect- as he is! Alaric was so excited to meet his new cousin too and the kisses started immediately!
Alaric can't wait to play with Baby Jack!
Our tradition is to let the kids pick one of their own toys to give to their friends on their birthday. Alaric wanted to pick something of his to give to Jack and he was so happy to give him a Lightning McQueen Car!
Before ya know it, Alaric- you and Jack will be vrooming cars all over the place!
Mara was more hesitant at first to touch Jack even though she had been talking about him for weeks. She carefully touched his toys and kissed his hair. So sweet.
Mara's gift to Jack was extra special. When Amara was born, we didn't know if she would be a boy or a girl so my mom and I had bought one going home outfit for each gender. Mom actually kept the boy outfit that would have been Mara's and today, she gave it to her baby cousin. Pants, onsie, sweater, socks, and a few of Alaric's baby boy hats!
I couldn't wait to unwrap him and look at his tiny body and sweet legs
and tiny feet!
I'm such a proud aunt and so blessed to have Jack in my life!
Brian and Jack already have been talking about beer, and sports, and farts and boy stuff! No really, Brian too was overjoyed to finally meet his nephew!
he slept almost the whole time we were there except for a few minutes. We all just help him and stared at him and awed at how perfect he is!
He's over 6 pounds now, eating really well and getting bigger and stronger by the day. Soon he'll be able to get out in the fresh air and meet the world!
