Operation Christmas Child-Samaritian Purse

We are trying to do more service and we wanted to instil that into our children as well. We are adopting a family at Christmas but when the opportunity to help children in need in other countries by simply filling a shoebox, we were excited to participate.

The kids and I went to the Dollar section at Target and had so much fun finding toys, games, toiletires, and other needed items for children who would normally have nothing special to receive from family.

It took me 30 minutes to wrap these two boxes so you could take the lids off- I think it's my most important contribution!

Here Brian helps the kids sort all our items!
Mara pitches in. We made one box for a boy and one for a girl!

We decide who should get the princess stickers-Mara said the boy but Alaric and I agreed the girl should have them.
Alaric shows off what's in the girl box
They had alot of fun doing this project! More to come on our Advent Service Projects soon!
