Sure enough, by 6:45 everyone was up and the kids were eating their morning snack of snowman poop, reindeer poop, and shingles from the roof that the reindeer knocked off!
After a huge homemade breakfast of peanut butter/chocolate pancakes, we started with our advent books and each kid got their very own Night Before Christmas
Then the Advent Calendar. Today they went on a hunt for Baby Jesus. The first clue said to go where we put the pictures we get in Christmas cards....the front door!
The next one said, "is that Santa's jingle bells or just someone getting a coat?"...the coat closet with the bells on the door!
The last one said, " That's "puzzling" I wonder where Jesus is"...the puzzles!
They found them! Each of them got their own Nativity with the Holy Family
They both decided to put them by their beds under their trees!
Each year we all get new jammies and the kids get new ornaments
I love mine!
Daddy points out all the super heros on his new PJ pants!
Then Daddy went to the last day of his Christmascountdown He got a love note from me!
Alaric's ornament was the SuperHero Squad since this was the year of Super Heros
Mara's big deal this year was Elmo so Elmo it was!
And I started baking Cinnamon Rolls for our Christmas breakfast at 6AM this morning. From scratch! I love being able to roll out the dough and make the filling and the icing and everything myself! One pan for us and another as a Christmas gift for a lucky someone! Get the recipe from one of my favorite blogs here
It is a Merry Christmas Eve here. The kids are playing, the Christmas music is blaring and we are happy and healthy! What a wonderful next few days we will have with our family in Champaign, Monticello, Iowa City, and Coal City! Check back next week for all the updates!
Merry Christmas Everyone!
