Spain-Day 3

After the amazing sleep we had, we got up and headed to Sevilla, a great Spanish town about an hour and a half away. Here is a picture of the drive in theatre on Base. It's the ONLY drive in theatre IN EUROPE!!!!
This is us at the Cathedral of Sevilla.

Inside the cathedral
This is a pipe organ
The alter is made completely of gold...there was a children's choir practicing while we were there.
Here is the tomb of Christopher Columbus
View from the tower of the Cathedral, originally serves as a minuret (wailing tower) for Muslim Mosque.
Orange trees in the courtyard of the Cathedral

The streets are beautiful in Sevilla- very close together, colorful, and clean.
Next to the Cathedral is the Alcazar, a Muslim Palace. Here we are inside the entrance.
One of the many beautiful courtyards.
Sailors prayed in the room before leaving for the New World
An underground bath made for the Muslim women- beautiful!
In the gardens with my BF
Making out with my husband in the garden- it's so nice when your kids aren't always around!
Brian took pics of the fountain from up above while we were down watching the ducks-if you look closely, you'll see Olivia in her pink coat under the fountain.
The tapestry room.
As we were walking out, we saw a bridal party walking in- how cool would it be to have your wedding pictures taken inside a palace.
For lunch, we found a Tapas restaurant to eat at. Even though it was cold, everyone was eating outside and we found a tiny table. I love this. Olivia and her sippy cup and us with our beers!
Our group at lunch
See everyone there on the far left
Heather and me
Another beautiful city street
The boys and Olivia walking back to the car
We loved all the rolling hills in this area- just breathtaking!
Well, it was breathtaking but as you can see, the girls were tired. The men sat in the front and talked history!
Then the Boyds took us to the town on the other side of Base, Puerto. Its Carnival time so streets were closed, people were partying, and many wear costumes. As we drove down the street, we saw these two and had to stop and take their pic- a nun and a Bishop!
We were blessed by this guy so we feel confident for the rest of our trip now!
Then we headed to the beach. So cool!

Tonight as I blog, we sit around the dining room table, drinking wine, eating, and just catching up. What a wonderful vacation already. We head to Granada and Gibraltar for a two day trip!
