We had a blast this morning. We headed to White Heath to Pontious Farms to go blueberry picking! We've gone before but never with both kids and having them at the age where they could participate was so much more fun that having a baby in a front pack or a toddler following behind.
It was 100 degrees out and we were all so hot but the kids did a great job picking! Even Amara knew only to pick the dark blue or purple ones and to leave the pink and red ones for later.
Brian stuck to one full bush. Me and the kids dealt with our attention deficit a bit different. We picked a few off of every tree we passed.
The kids each had a bucket and Alaric, who swore he hated blueberries, loved participating. By the end of the morning, he was eating berries out of his bucket.
Mara shows off one of the biggest berries of the day
The farm has a great playground and we has snack and cooled off in the shade. Al took this picture of us. he's getting pretty good.
Then we headed out to the fields to pick sweet corn. They were pretty picked over but the kids loved being on our shoulders. Brian carried Mar all through the fields.
Please, please have this experience- single, married, kids, no-kids, young, old- it was so great. Pack a snack or picnic lunch and enjoy this quaint little, small town attraction- we loved it!
