T-Ball

Wow what a season! It was exhausting and fun and funny! This group of kids was really lively. And really absent-minded, and maybe even a bit off their rocker. Lots of 4 year olds ( as apposed to 5 year olds like Al), lots of picking flowers and looking at birds. Running away was a common thing, hitting other children wasn't unhead of, and picking children up off the field because they were crawling like animals and running with them to get them to the next base happened at every single game!

Brian was head coach. There were two assistants. I was, what Al called the "snack coach" and we often times had plenty of other helpers on the field too.

Never the less, it was so great to watch them each week and see Alaric gain confidence and Brian gain patience!

Look at this sweetie!
Alaric was so proud to have his daddy as head coach!

The team

Brian really wanted to be sure they had fun at their last game so he had them all run bases to catch him.

And because the frogs in town had just grown their legs and there were hundreds ( literally) of teeny tiny frogs all over the field, they all pretended to be frogs for awhile too.

brian tells Alaric to think of the bat as a lightsaber and to slice through the ball like you were trying to kill Darth Vadar ( whatever works....Al loved it!)"I'm ready!"

Brayden's 5th Birthday-CARS 2!!!!

We headed to Savoy 16 this morning at 9AM to celebrate Alaric's friend, Brayden's, 5th birthday and see CARS 2- IN 3D!!!!

Amara and Emmie loved sitting together ( they even held hands during the movie-so sweet)
The boys had a blast and the parents loved it too!

Alaric and Nolan get ready for the movie ( this was all The Fulton's first 3D flick)

Everyone loved it! What an awesome idea for a birthday party!

We had cake and opened gifts right in the foyer of the theatre. So fun!

Happy Birthday, Brayden!

On our way out we had to get a picture in front of this cardboard cut-out. Alaric was going crazy- sadly, it's another AWESOME boy movie we aren't quite ready to let him see yet.The kids rocked out in their 3D glasses!

Nice little Saturday Morning!

TV Turn Off Week-Tour De Parks!

This week has been TV TURN OFF WEEK! We decided months ago to do it and thought this would be the best week since the kids had summer camp! Its been a week filled with fun and lots of play and not ONE fuss about the TV- not ONE! I can't believe it. No TV for the kids means no TV for us too and other than Brian not being able to watch Sports Center in the morning when he works out, it's been easy for us too. We watch very little TV at all so it was fine and we get up at 4Am every morning and are so exhausted by 9PM, that it didn't change our lives too much at all.
We did decide to do a special project this week- TOUR De Parks! We went to a different park in C-U each day this week for a picnic lunch. The kids LOVED it and I did too. There are no parks that weren't around when I was growing up and its so special to re-discover things through your kids.

Day 1-Monday- Zahnd Park

Tons of slides, pavilion, near the baseball fields

and monkey bars! This is where Alaric took on the personal challenge of being able to go on the Monkey bars so I am forever grateful to Zahnd Park!

Day 2-Tuesday-Scott Park

Huge park near campus...that meant Daddy got to join us so that was a huge bonus. Beautiful play structures, lots of spinny things, a water feature,

Spider webs,

And a creek with a bridge that runs through it!

Day 3-Wednesday-Westside Park

This parks has tons of grassy space. The kids thought it was the biggest park they'd ever seen.

The play structures were great.

It was beautifully fenced in

Had this awesome fountain the kids threw coins into

and they LOVED the swings. I saw the playground through their eyes today and I loved it!

Westside also had monkey bars that Alaric KILLED! he was amazing! Check out the video below!.

Day 4-Thursday-Meadowbrook Park

THis is one of the incredible community built wood parks and its amazing! So cool just to walk around and explore.

THose are Alaric's toes while he was on the swings. You can get lost in a place like this.

This was the only park with a tire swing and my kids adored it!

Day 5-Friday-The Oasis at First Christian Church

Its an indoor playground and really is an Oasis-especially in the winter when all your kids want to do is run and play! Since it was cold today, we headed here.

They have tables for picnics, tons of things for all ages, a track around the outside for walking, clean bathrooms-you can't beat it!
I'm so lucky that for now my kids play so well together!

The track around the outside looks like a city street with a firetruck and more! What a great week!

Backyard Bug Adventure at Grammy & Papa's!

Grammy and Papa hosted one of thier annual Themed Parties today and it was Backyard Bug Adventure!

It started in the garage with digging for, and observing plastic bugs in the sand.
Then Grammy read the kids a story

They loved being at Grammy & Papa's!

Over to the deck to beat some Oreos and turn them into dirt dessert!

Oreos and Pudding and Gummy Worms- a winning combination!

Veronica works hard to get the Ants on a Log she just made into her mouth!

And Jack had ladybugs...cherrios!

The kids shared with Grammy....

and Papa too! Then they got their bug catchers and magnefying glasses and went looking for bugs.

They found bugs by digging in the dirt by the playhouse!

Sweet little Jack just sat in the grass and explored. And then the kids explored him!

Grammy loves her Grandbabies! It was swimming time and everyone got to swim ( Grammy & Papa got Jack his own baby pool)

But since my kids can't seem to get enough of their cousin, they all spent some time in the baby pool together.

Are you kidding me? Could this kid get any cuter? Then we headed inside for some caterpiller cupcakes made just for V, Al, and Mara by Grammy!

and everyone enjoyed some leftover gummy worms, even Uncle Dan!

Thanks Grammy & Papa for hosting such a fun afternoon of cousins, bugs, yummy snacks, and more! We love you!
